This November, Bethlen Estates Transylvania invites you to a one-time-only culinary dinner – The Mangalica Feast, a farm-to-table celebration of Transylvania’s prized heritage pork, brought to life by Chef Róbert Tordai. Known for his terroir-driven approach and creative use of local ingredients, our chef will take guests on a gastronomic journey that honours the Mangalica pork in its entirety – an ode to sustainability, craftsmanship and the full circle of rural gastronomy.

Expect open-fire cooking, bold flavours and dishes that honour both the land and its culinary legacy. Alongside the Mangalica, the feast will also feature seasonal produce sourced from nearby forests and farms, all transformed into refined, soulful plates that bridge past and present. Evenings unfold in the warm embrace of the estate, where every course is paired with expressive local and international wines. Between meals, time slows. Guests are invited to unwind, explore the village or simply bask in the serenity of the countryside, surrounded by centuries-old stories.

After dinner, you can retreat to one of our double rooms in a heritage guesthouse and wake up slowly the next morning, surrounded by silence. Rest, recharge, and enjoy a seasonal local breakfast as soon as you rise.

Until now, our stays required a minimum of two nights, but for this event, we’re opening the estate to food travellers for a one-night experience. Come as you are: enjoy the dinner and head home afterwards, or choose to stay overnight and make it a slow retreat.
