In the heart of Transylvania, where time moves gently and traditions linger in the air, Bethlen Estates opens its doors to a new kind of escape, one guided entirely by taste. This is a culinary journey through Transylvania: a three-day stay that celebrates the richness of local cuisine, the beauty of the land, and the joy of slow living.

Rooted in Saxon, Hungarian, and Romanian influences, every dish tells a story of memory, terroir, and imagination. Guided by our Michelin-trained chef, Róbert Tordai, guests are invited to rediscover familiar flavours reinterpreted with modern elegance and crafted with ingredients sourced from nearby farms, forests, and rivers.

A poetic celebration of local flavours

Each day unfolds like a new chapter in a story told through taste. From champagne and gourmet bites on arrival, to intimate fine-dining dinners, the days are designed to awaken every sense.

Evenings are reserved for moments around the table: six carefully composed courses paired with handpicked international wines that reflect the rhythm of the land. Each plate celebrates seasonality, authenticity, and the subtle connection between nature and craft.

Beyond the table

Your stay extends beyond dining, it’s an immersion into the Transylvanian countryside. Explore hidden villages, walk through forests, meet local artisans, or simply linger in the stillness of the estate. Every experience is tailored to the rhythm of the season and the pace of the guest.

As twilight settles, the scent of wood fire and herbs fills the air. Here, slow living isn’t an idea, it’s a way of being.

Flavors of Transylvania experience:

• 3 nights of accommodation in one of the available cottages, depending on preference and availability (double room).
• Gourmet welcome dinner: 6 courses — a true culinary journey through Transylvania, accompanied by a carefully selected wine pairing menu.
• 2 seasonal lunches, prepared with ingredients sourced from local producers’ gardens, wild game meat, or other delights following the farm-to-table philosophy. Each menu is designed on the morning of the day, based on the freshness of the farmers’ harvests.
• 2 three-course dinners, inspired by the local terroir and elegantly reinterpreted with a modern touch.
• Guided tour of Bethlen Castle in Criș: history, culture, and heritage.

Available for bookings between November 1st and December 20th. Minimum stay: 3 nights for 2 guests. Starting from €650 per room per night (accommodation and experience included).
